Music in Schools I and II
Teaching music in schools
BA students can choose between two programmes:
- Music in Schools I: courses at the FHNW Academy of Music and courses in a second (school) subject at the University of Basel.
- Music in Schools II: teaching at upper-secondary level. Choice of three majors: instrumental/vocal with a specialisation in classical music/jazz; choral conducting; and musicology.
The MA programme Music in Schools II enables students to grow and develop as an artist while acquiring the skills and ability to teach music at the upper secondary level. The programme offers a choice of four majors: instrumental/vocal; music theory; choral conducting; and musicology with a specialisation in instrument/voice/composition/music and movement.
