Jazzcampus Session: Roda de Choro

This jam session is modeled on a traditional roda de choro, where players gather informally around tables sharing a special jam experience.

This Wednesday there will be the third edition of the Roda de Choro - Jam at Jazz Campus, an initiative by Professor Paulo Almeida and collaborators. If you are interested in participating, please use this link to join the WhatsApp Group.

Participants will be placed in groups, and an initial repertoire will be shared in advance.

The session will take place around a table in the Jazz Club, with everyone seated with their instruments. We will play together and share melodic responsibilities across different sections.

The rhythm section will include 6-string guitar, 7-string guitar, cavaquinho, pandeiro, acoustic bass, and piano. Melodic instruments are all welcome to participate, including singers.

This project aims to offer a different kind of jam session experience, within a more structured context at the beginning. The repertoire will include both traditional choro and works by contemporary composers.
