Notation Software Tutorial (Finale, Sibelius)

Do you need a computer programme to help you with notation?
Finale and Sibelius are software programmes which allow you to compose, transcribe, and score a wide range of musical compositions, from a simple melody to a complex orchestral piece. Users simply use their computer keyboard, mouse, MIDI instruments, or scanner to record the notes.
One of the workstations in the library’s audio centre is equipped with various notation programmes, while Sibelius is installed on six PCs on the second floor.
The tutorial includes a brief introduction by qualified guest lecturers. Using practical examples, you will familiarise yourself with the programmes, use them to present works in your preferred format, and include performances and texts, as well as print out the score.
