An international centre of excellence in music education and research
The higher education institutes of the Musik-Akademie Basel have been part of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) since 2008. This collaboration is governed by a formal cooperation agreement between MAB and FHNW. The FHNW Academy of Music, which includes the Institute of Classical Music (formerly known as the 'Konservatorium'), the Institute of Jazz and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, is one of the FHNW's nine schools. It is at our institution that some 700 students from around the world take their first steps towards a career as a professional musician or music educator.
